Oasis fans were left in stitches after a few fans were left believing a bogus setlist announcement, which had two obvious details which showed it was a fake set
A bogus setlist which showed the “leaked” setlist for Oasis’ upcoming shows has left fans in stitches.
One note from the encore of the show confirmed the setlist to be a fake, but some fans of the Gallagher Brothers were fooled by the setlist and had high hopes for what it could mean for their shows later this summer. Where classic songs like Champagne Supernova and Don’t Look Back in Anger are listed, it is what precedes Live Forever that had people in stitches.
One user taking to the r/Oasis subreddit shared a photo of the “leaked” lineup, which caused a stir with fans who immediately clocked it as a fake.
One wrote: “There are people out there who -really- believe they have a setlist at this point in time just laying around?” Another added: “No Little James? FAKE.” A third wrote: “F**king right it starts with Hello.”
A cover of the internet sensation Crazy Frog, followed by the stage direction “pause for fight,” confirmed it to be a fake, but a few fans were left furious by the mock-up.
One fumed: “People are w***ers.” Another added: “Unrealistic. They’ll make it past three songs max before they start beating the s**t out of each other.”
Those who believed the setlist was real were rightly mocked by other users. One wrote: “Can’t anyone just wait for a surprise anymore? I hate the internet lol.” Another replied: “Did you read the setlist? I know I’m going out on a limb here but I’m not entirely convinced it’s real.”
Another suggested an Oasis setlist would not be hard to guess given the recent solo tours from Liam and Noel Gallagher. They wrote: “It’s not that hard to guess the setlist. Look at Liam’s setlist, take out solo songs, put on two to three songs Noel sang vocals like Don’t Look Back in Anger, Half the world etc and you’re pretty close.”
Others were left joking about whether Oasis will add unknown songs to their setlist in response to the mock-up of their setlist. One user wrote: “Imagine if they protested this leak by filling the set up with material from the 2000s.”
Another user suggested that if the setlist did come to fruition they wouldn’t be upset. They wrote: “To be fair, if this WAS the setlist and they swapped Crazy Frog for something off SOTSOG (and kept the fight) I wouldn’t even be mad!”
A third joked: “Amazed that their most popular hit Pause for Fight is so late in the set.” Another replied: “If they play it early, a lot of people would just leave after that, sadly. They have some great deep cuts, but still the casual listeners just care about the popular hits, PfF being probably the most popular of them all.”
