Chelsea fans have savaged Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for his understated appearances at the club’s end-of-season awards party on Sunday night.

Most Blues stars were dressed to the nines as players from the men’s and women’s teams, as well as the academy, arrived at the swanky Grosvenor House in Mayfair, central London.

There was joyous atmosphere, coming just hours after Chelsea scored a statement 3-1 victory over Premier League champions Liverpool to bolster their hunt for a Champions League spot. Meanwhile, Sonia Bompastor’s side have already won the Women’s Super League and League Cup and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

While others were suitably attired for red carpets around the globe, Dewsbury-Hall opted for a more relaxed fit. The 26-year-old, who has played a bit-part role in the league after following Enzo Maresca from Leicester in the summer, appeared in a navy overshirt and chinos.

The combination drew ridicule from some Blues supporters on social media, with one enquiring as to why he decided to dress up like a ‘janitor’.

‘What the helly,’ said another fan on X, while a third simply posted two question marks in response to an image of the English midfielder.

It has been a largely frustrating season domestically for Dewsbury-Hall, who has made just two starts for the Blues in the Premier League this term.

He has enjoyed most of his game time in the Conference League for the semi-finalist. He has made one fewer appearance in the competition than in the top flight.

On the night, Moises Caicedo was a big winners, scooping up two awards as he was named Men’s Players’ Player of the Season and voted by fans as Men’s Player of the Season.

He joined favourites such as Eden Hazard, Thiago Silva, and Cole Palmer to be recognised with both honours in the same season after starting every league game to date.

Erin Cuthbert won the Women’s Player of the Season for the second time in a season which has seen her surpass the 250 appearances mark for the Blues.

Meanwhile, Nathalie Bjorn took home the Women’s Players’ Player of the Season after being a defensive rock in her first full season at the club.

Fans will want to keep an eye on Tyrique George and Lola Brown, who won the respective Academy Player of the Season prizes after breaking into the first team.

George, 19 has made 22 appearances and netted his first senior goal last month, while Brown, 17, has also made a handful of outings for the women’s side.

Finally, Millie Bright and Marcus Bettinelli were named the PFA Community Champions for their work with the Chelsea Foundation.
