Former Coronation Street star Sacha Parkinson has announced the birth of her first child in a sweet social media post.
The actress made the joyous announcement in an Instagram post on Tuesday (April 15) as she marked a week since her daughter’s arrival.
It was back on Christmas Eve (December 24) in which Sacha announced she was expecting as she debuted her blossoming baby bump for the first time.
The reel showed photos of the mum-to-be clad in red silk pyjamas, which revealed her growing baby bump. “Merry Xmas Eve huns – I have a feeling next year is going to be a wild one,” she wrote in the caption.
Now, Sacha has confirmed her bundle of joy’s arrival into the world. Sharing black and white pictures of the newborn on Instagram, the former soap star said: “1 whole week of Sadie.”
And the messages quickly came flooding in. Former Corrie co-star Lucy Fallon shared: “Gorgeous. Hope you’re all ok,” while Sally Dynevor wrote: “Oooooh wow congratulations. How wonderful. She’s so beautiful.”
Ellie Leach posted: “Soooooo beautiful. Congratulations Model Rhian Sugden gushed: “Waaaaahhh!! She’s here! Congratulations I can’t wait to hear all about it.”
Former Hollyoaks star Sophie Austin said: “HUGE congratulations, beautiful beautiful,” while Lucy-Jo Hudson commented: “Ah she is beautiful. Congratulations babe, so happy for you and your little family.”
Coronation Street’s own official account typed: “Ahh congratulations Sacha!”
Actress Faye Mckeever noted: “Mate. Look at her! Oh my goodness. So so made up for you ..you’re gunna be one hell of a mama”.
Emmerdale star Charley Webb added: “Cutest everything.”
Fans will recall that Sacha first appeared in the ITV soap back in 2009, playing a friend of Sophie Webster, played by Brooke Vincent.
They swiftly went on to become the soap’s first lesbian couple but fell short of tying the knot.
Sacha and Brooke have continued to remain great friends and Brooke reshared her former on-screen partner’s baby announcement on Instagram and said: “Baby Girl had a baby girl. Sadie, you are so loved.”
Sacha’s baby announcement comes after she announced she was engaged in October 2023. The former soap star posted a selfie of herself grinning alongside her fiancé, as she held up her sparkling engagement ring.
Sacha captioned the update: “I knew you were likely to take a wife!” and “SCREAMING”. She also shared a number of other photos of the sweet proposal, which took place on a boat against a gorgeous sunset.
