The Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola returned in 2024 with his first movie in 13 years: Megalopolis, a “Roman Epic set in an imagined Modern America.” IGN’s Megalopolis review awarded it a score of 9/10, calling Coppola’s new movie “a frustrating madcap odyssey that gives way to something wildly unique.” That said, takes on this movie are all over the place, with its most recent (and only) accolade being Coppola’s ‘win’ for “Worst Director” at the 2025 Razzies.

Megalopolis (Digital)

Megalopolis became available to rent from digital platforms, including Prime Video, less than a month after it released in theaters. Earlier in 2025, the movie was pulled from most of the marketplaces alongside listings for the 4K physical release. As of March 2025, every digital listing for Megalopolis comes up as “unavailable.”

Given distributor Lionsgate’s licensing deals, one would guess Megalopolis will eventually be released on Peacock, rather than Netflix or Disney+. However, there has been no word on a streaming release for the movie, which seems to have been almost entirely scrubbed off the internet.

4K and Blu-Ray Release Date

The physical release for Megalopolis is a similar tale. While Amazon still technically has a listing up for Megalopolis in 4K, it’s currently unavailable, and word is the retailing giant started cancelling existing preorders.
